Why do all my settings revert when I reload the game?
Hi!
Right click the file “Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Options.ini”, then on “Properties”.
If the attribute “Read Only” has a check mark, click on it to remove it, then on OK.
This should solve the problem.

Hey, out of curiosity before I screw up my game, did you already replace the worlds with fixed ones or are they the original worlds from EA that were kinda buggy.

Hi…I donated for the sims 3 last month but when I opened the game last week, the screen size was small. So I tried changing screen size from the graphics option in settings, but it didn’t work. So I just donated again two days ago and it was working fine until today when the same thing happened.
Interesting! Try editing the file “\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Options.ini”, you can adjust the resolution, if you want windowed or full screen and much more.
Before doing that, though, right click the file mentioned above and check it’s properties. The file should NOT be read only. Let me know how it goes.
Just in case, some useful lines for you to change:
To make it full screen:
“fullscreen = 1”
Resolution (horizontal vertical refresh_rate), adjust according to what you’d like for your screen resolution or your window size, depending if you’re playing in full screen or not:
“resolution = 1920 1080 60”
When you run the game again it should be as you’d like. You can also change those setting in the game menu, once you’re sure that file isn’t read only anymore.
So I’ve done as you said and the game is on full screen, it covers my entire screen. When the game starts, everything is fine. But the load, main menu, and gameplay screen is smaller than usual. I took a screenshot of the screen, is there any way to send it to you for a better understanding?

Yes, there’s no catch. You just subscribed (it’s a recurring monthly subscription, in your case) to Premium Access, from what I see. Did you receive the invitation and started synchronizing everything you like?
Also, the server stays up to date. Every time I update something your computer is synchronized and you have the latest versions I have on my side too. 😇

I can’t start The Sims 3.
I got an error during the installation process, and the shortcuts couldn’t be created. I found the exe files (Sims3Launcher, Sims3LauncherW, TS3, TS3W), but when I try to execute them I got an error message (“There was an error during startup” for the launcher; “Unable to start. Please reinstall the base game” for TS3.exe and TS3W.exe).
Hi! The Sims 3 doesn’t work like The Sims 4. You must run one of the installers. But you also must wait until all files are synchronized (green icons) inside your “The Sims 3” folder before you can run the installer properly. Then, you’ll get two shortcuts in your start menu, which should work if all files are there.
Also, there’s 2 installers, you can choose the one you prefer (their names are self explanatory). Keep me posted and enjoy the new version. I hope it’s working normally once you install it using one of the new installers.
