I hope an update comes out soon! My game is completely unplayable. Not able to interact with certain people in the same family, can not enter build mode at all. Canβt use the phone. The list goes on and on π
Are you using Mods / CC / Previous saves?
Try renaming the folder
The Sims 4
insideDocuments\Electronic Arts
to something else so you can see how the game performs from a clean state and you can enjoy it this way until the patch fixing it comes out (likely this week). No mods or cc, Iβve just been loading the game as normal. Iβll try renaming the folder and seeing if that helps!
It is possible. That way you eliminate cache files and whatever else that might be causing issues. There's no guarantees but it's something to try when facing issues like this.
Of course, always double check all icons are green.
Yep all icons are green. I gave it a try and unfortunately itβs acting the exact same. Thanks for the tips but looks like I just have to wait it out π
But you're using an existing save right? The point of renaming the folder "The Sims 4" inside "Documents\Electronic Arts" is to start over from scratch (adjust for the language you use to play) with a new save entirely created with the new version of the game and without any cache, CC or mod or previous save etc.
No not using an existing save, this was a whole new one. Also I just restarted my computer and it shows the blue arros on Yandex for Data and for EP12. So maybe that is why I am having so many issues currently.
Yes. If that's happening that's your problem and you need to wait until all files are green again.
All of my favorite family died because of the glitch :/ I hope they will fix it soon
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear. Can you restore a backup?
I think you can see the previous version of your save if you manually open your Documents folder.
After the new update my game seems to freeze when I enter build mode. Do more people encounter this issue?
Hi! You're the first person mentioning this but yes, the new mega update has tons of bugs, sadly (from EA).
Most of them can be avoided by not using mods, custom content and, if you're in the mood, by using a fresh save.
You can rename your folder
Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
to something else and play with a clean slate for a while until EA releases a patch to make the game a bit better.I had that as well, and you cannot exit at all right?
Oh? You can always exit without saving, can't you? If not you can kill the game with Alt+F4 or even close the game on your task bar (if full screen you can use Alt Tab then you kill it)
