How to Install The Sims 4 February 9th, 2022 SDX Update

yes, asks to restart, i restart, but nothing changes! I did try and download the SDX file, but i am wondering if i am putting it in the wrong spot. I put it in Documents/EA and then just beside the Sims 4 file, is that correct?
Hi! The folder structure with the SDX is similar to what you have inside Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
You need to match them.
Are you playing in English?
If using another language, you need to adjust the name for the folder you are actually using, instead.
It is interesting you got the notification, you chose to restart the game when asked by it. Then you open the game again and you don't have the SDX items. 🤔
I know right... Yes, playing in english! Maybe it's a setting I have turned off? But honestly it's fine, maybe once I stop worrying about it something will fix lol
I am trying to figure out what could be wrong because this is the very first time I hear about this. Ever. 😬
Keep me posted if you find anything.
Interestingly, if you rename your entire
"The Sims 4"
folder insideDocuments\Electronic Arts
your settings should all be gone and the game should have "factory state" settings.Hi! I am having issues getting the SDX content (I have the game without library). It didn't pop up when I first opened the game, so I downloaded the SDX folder and put it in docs, but nothing has happened. What am I missing! Thanks 🙂
Hi!
Are the new items unavailable in the game? Maybe they're already there and the game didn't give you a notification?
You can surely run a test by renaming your entire "The Sims 4" folder inside Documents\Electronic Arts. That would make the game ask for the SDX again if the game is able to connect to EA servers, of course. But maybe you won't need it if the items are already there.
You can also go to options, Sims Delivery, click the button "Check for new Content" (screenshot above).
It should refresh for a split second and tell you if you have the latest Sims Delivery content or not. 😇
Hi! Thanks for the reply. Ok so, I did the renaming thing and started fresh, no mods no saves, and it still did not work (i did get the SDX delivery, and restarted, but the new content/items did not show up). It's weird because I have the updated home screen with the blast from the past teaser, but still not in game :/
Interesting.
So, when you clean it up and run again, you get a notification it's downloading the SDX. Then, does it ask to restart the game? What happens next?
yes, asks to restart, i restart, but nothing changes! I did try and download the SDX file, but i am wondering if i am putting it in the wrong spot. I put it in Documents/EA and then just beside the Sims 4 file, is that correct?
Hi! You need to match the same position. I kept the entire folder to facilitate that. That's basically a copy of mine, so you need to have it looking the same hierarchy wise.
But even without it you said you were notified by the game about the SDX being available, right? Accepting to install it and restarting the game should have had been enough if you're not using mods.
I am sorry to hear that it's not working, I have been thinking about what could be causing this problem on your end, but I can't think of anything.
Maybe you'll get the content when the game is updated soon for the new Expansion Pack.
😇
I just updated the instructions above, let me know if the new details help. 🙏🏻
